Paint brand Dulux is packaging its Ecosense range in new pails from RPC Containers Oakham in a bid to boost its green credentials

The containers incorporate 20% post industrial recycled material and RPC recommended using “standard 1” 2.5litre and 5litre container designs.

According to RPC, tests showed that the best material ratio, in order to preserve the durability and functionality of the container, is 25% recycled polypropylene (PP) to 75% virgin PP in the container body.

The water-based paints are available in matt and satinwood and have been “specifically formulated to have a demonstrably lower environmental impact than standard Dulux products”.

Ecosense follows on from the Ecosure product range from Dulux Trade, which was launched in 2008.

“RPC Oakham’s solution proved extremely successful for the Ecosure trade product and we are anticipating that consumers will appreciate the same sustainability initiative for the Ecosense retail launch,” said Dulux’s Monjana Fyfe.
